Purpose of award: To provide scholarships to AFT members' dependents.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors. The award is merit-based and will consider academics, community service and performance on the required labor-related essay. Applicants' parents or guardians must be AFT members for at least one year.
Target applicant: High school students
Minimum GPA: None
Amount: $8,000.
Number of awards: 4. Scholarship may be renewable.
Deadline: March 31.
