Purpose of award: To support United Methodist students who are pursuing doctoral degrees in Christian education.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be attending a graduate school of theology which is approved by the University Senate. They must be full-time students with at least a B+ grade average. Students must have been members of the United Methodist Church for at least three years, and they must have attained one of the following positions: deacon in full connection, diaconal minister or deaconess.

Adult students
Minimum GPA: 3.3
Amount: $5,000.
Number of awards: 1.
Deadline: February 1.
